Hello all. First post I believe. Lot of good info here. I could use a little help. I am trying to find some place that sharpens or reconditions chipped and dull burr bits various shapes and lengths I have 19 that need to be done if it is possible. plus maybe some new ones as the need for their use has come up again. any links, company names would help. on-line search is frustrating. anyone know a place.thanksJoe
Reply:If you're talking of typical carbide burrs, I think they'd probably be cheaper to just buy new than to resharpen.
Reply:Hi all. well this thread was about burr bit resharpen/recondition. I found a place. I sent them 20 burr bits to see what could be done. 6 badly chipped were scrapped. 5, SG-3 were reconditioned. 2, SF-3 reconditioned. 1, SA-3 recon. 1, SC-5 resharpened. 3, SF-3 resharpened. 1 SG-3 + 1 SL-3 resharpened. came to $65.40 with shipping. 2 were standard shank oal. 2 3/4"+ 3" the rest were 6" cut to size 3 1/2" to 5". to replace a total of 14 burrs, $230.55. To resharpen/recondition $65.40.So for those who have a need for this. I had this work done by Advanced Carbide Tool CompanyBurrs are as good as newJoe |
