I just recently picked up a hypertherm power 20 plasma off a guy pushing it around in a shopping cart for 30 bucks (most definitely stolen and supplied guy with drug money but it was the west side of Chicago). Never the less I got it home and it worked o.k. except when I really turned her up, the arc would blow itself out.. I got new electrodes and tips and that really didnt help much. Now I heard that they really take a bunch of juice at first arc then the current stabilizes shortly after...the garage i'm in (girlfriends parents) has really scary electric he did it all himself and i'm guessing that that has a major role in my problem...am I chasing my tail or should I pull new wires to the shop...Oh yeah he does at least have 30 amp breakers feeding the super shop
Reply:Make sure the air pressure isnt too high. This can blow out the pilot arc. Seehttp://www.centricut.com/TA_StartingProblems_2004.htmSmithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I think the drugs impaired his thoughts and he should have charged you more! Seems like you ripped him off LOL! Sure wish I could find similar deals like that! Great buy send him my way!
Reply:I almost crashed my truck when i saw the torch hanging off the side of the cart. I think he might of thought I was the fuzz or something because he really didnt want much to do with me. Anybody know what the right pressure is (air) I've been trying to find a manual for this machine but I cant seem to locate one. THANKS |
