what do you guys think of this for a tig/stick machine. ive been looking at this cause it can do everything and i can plug into 120v for the small stuff. (gotta weld thin sheet and unistrut on the job and would like to only have 1 machine to drag around.) ive got a bunch of alumiunum projects that i need to do and am just tired of the spool gun i just cant get it to work right and look good.
Reply:If you got the cash, you cannot go wrong with it. At 45lbs, its more than portable, and you can weld aluminum with a pin-point tungsten. The amp range is great from 1-200. I hear they run very well even on 120v.2002 VW Golf TDi1994 Audi S4

Reply:ok im gonna go for it. ebay 2887.77 at my front door the 120v capability is really cool for me otherwise i think i would look more at the thermalarc

Reply:Congradulations!! I too have a new welder on the way, I'm hoping that the newer inverter technology holds up well. I have an invertec V-350 on it's way, it'll be here sometime next week, YEAH! Let us know how your machine works, and I'm curious if your results will be similar to mine if the two machines have the same procedural settings. What rods and size do you plan to run with first? Does your machine have an arc setting? i.e. soft/hard arc starts, and stiff or soft arc controls? (for the stick functions...) I nead a wire feeder soon for my machine, till then it's dc tig and stick. I too purchased my machine through ebay. I paid 2,149.99 for the advanced process V-350 pro, used, 2004 model with a 2 year factory warrunty left, including shipping. The fella selling them is named Netsply, and works for Profax out of Texas. He does this ebay stuff for a side job I think, and I trust his equipment descriptions to be fair and true.
