Has anybody had any experience with Shop Fox brand tools...just got a new tool shop in my area and they carry a pretty good line of their stuff. Their 4 X 6 horizontal/vertical band saw and their drill presses look to be decent tools at a decent price. Just wondering.
Reply:Shop Fox is basically Grizzly with white paint. Some tools they sell as both, some they only sell as shop fox, or only as Grizzly. Since they dont want to wholesale Grizzly to other stores, they came up with shop fox as a line they can let other people sell. Some Shop Fox stuff is on the Grizzly website, and some is not- its kinda weird how they mix it all up.So warranty and parts ought to be about the same as Grizzly- which means, better than Harbor Freight, worse than Jet...
Reply:There is a huge jet wherehouse here in WA state very near me, and almost next door they have a surplus-liquidation center. For instance. I just picked up a brand new rebar bender/shear for 85$ retail is normally 300-400. Yeah it's the 4' long thing, weighs about 60 lbs. they get there goodies in kinda batches it seems. they give killer killer pricing though. they have a bunch of 20" drill presses monster things, and 3 pallets of 16" floor type that are quite a bit beefier then anything you could get at Home Depot, or Lowes or Sears. they have all sorts of goodies Got a needle scaler for 40$, again very beefy. email me if you want, and I'll see what they got on saturday, or get some better info for ya. The guys there have treated me real good. Brian Lee Sparkeee24 |
