Here's a couple pics of the latest insanity rollin around in my head! Recycled stainless stove pipe for the petals, scrap mild steel for the sepals, bought round rod (3/16 and 1/8), recycled silverware, and some scrap granite I had laying around! Mig welding for the most part of it with .023 er70s 6 and a small amount of tig on the leaves to stems 1/8 red at about 26 amps!I need to give a big thanks to grumpycricket for the advice on the photo comp! It make a big difference! Cheers my friend!  Attached ImagesSeeing your child exceed your expectations through a spark you created is the most wonderful feeling in the world!Miller Syncrowave 250 Millermatic 180Too much other stuff to list!

Reply:Nice work, that's one of the best I've seen. FYI, my wife makes wedding cakes and I've borrowed some of her templates for metal flowers. They translate well from icing (fondant actually) to sheet metal. Usually the templates are very close to the real flower, correct proportions, # petals, etc. They are out there for pretty much any type of flower. If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:BD1 I did ... It really depends on what I'm working with. I use mapp torches and propane accordingly. I also create my colors with the heat for now. The clear coat on this one was Dollar Store approved! I had my first experience with humidity and clear coat on this one also!  I had to throw the heat on it quick and was able to save it! Thanks for checkin it out! Reply:Gamble... I'll get back with you on that in a post or few so I can show a few more pics and tricks I use! More than happy to share here and it's a bit easier that way!Seeing your child exceed your expectations through a spark you created is the most wonderful feeling in the world!Miller Syncrowave 250 Millermatic 180Too much other stuff to list!
Reply:Yep SWells I've seen some other folks mention that also! I am working my way to being able to do each individual petal and sepal one at a time. Many more rose configurations in that aspect but, time and skill will dictate that for sure! Thank you!Seeing your child exceed your expectations through a spark you created is the most wonderful feeling in the world!Miller Syncrowave 250 Millermatic 180Too much other stuff to list!

Reply:Yep fun and relatively easy to make roses.  No real special tools required either.  As a matter of fact I do demos for high school art classes using just a trailer hitch ball and a claw hammer.  Plain old plumbing solder will work for lack of anything else.  Of course the stuff I make to sell is made using professional hammers, dollies, bowling balls, iron workers drift pins, and about any thing else I can get the shape I need or desire from.  As the old saying goes "Just beat it to fit, and paint it to match".RogerOld, Tired, and GRUMPYSalesman will call, Batteries not included, Assembly is required, and FREE ADVICE IS WORTH EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT!Dial Arc 250HFThunderbolt 225 AC/DCAssorted A/O torches
