As a tinner I work in a very large shop and about half the time I'm out working on a jobsite so having a toolbox in the shop would be a waste of money because most of my tools I carry in my mobile toolbox. Well that toolbox weighs about 70# so I've been looking at rolling cabinets. Saturday my dream came true. My father (owns a small welding/fab shop) was talking about tossing a cart that hasn't been used since the previous owner so I snatched it up.It measures about 40" long x 20" wide x 30" tall on wheels with a handle on either end. There was two rows of drawers under the top and closed off around three sides. I removed the drawers and got to keep the old files, wrenches and misc. hand tools inside. (5 gal. pail full).Where the drawers were is square tube frame underneath so I made some quick shelves and put two doors on the front with a lock. Gave it a quick spray bomb job and brought it to work today. Loved it. Total cost for the project was $5.68 for the lock.Pictures to come soon.

Reply:Well it's no craftsman but it works for me. It is a homemade 1 1/2" square tube frame rolling cart, probably about thirty years old. It's got a shelf on the bottom and the two shelves under the top hang down about 15" and are closed off. The side and tabletop are 18-20 ga steel and screwed on. I welded the doors on. I'll snap some pictures tomorrow. I'll be doing more to it soon. The plan is put a 4-way outlet on the side with about a 20' cord. Also I'll be putting a small shelf in the open area underneath for a radio and some hooks for my hood and faceshield. Maybe a sleeve to stuff paperwork. Eventually a new top that isn't banged up would be nice.I'm having fun with this and plan to go all out with this cart.
Reply:Two pics I snapped at work today. My toolbox on top is 30" long and about 12" tall for reference. Attached Images
