In December I'm planning on trying my hand at being a vendor in Budafest, which is a trade days type of deal with vendors, a kid carnival, a parade, and such things.......I plan to be a vendor...... just for the heck of it........ since I live here and I go every year anyway.....I plan to make something each month over this year to have ready in December.....This month.... clocks......17 all steel, and 8 with a mix of Aluminum.....I welded out the steel ones today..... I haven't painted any yet........Some pics...... Attached ImagesPrecision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Fexal, You might take a look at some of Wello's posts. Niel does a bunch of stuff he sells at the market. Mostly candle holders and some art work, just to name a few of his projects I've seen him post up.I've thought about setting up a small table with a few things, mostly some of my blacksmithing or horse shoe stuff, since there are a bunch of horse people in the area, but most places want a fairly sizable chunk of change for a table. Reply:I like your idea of the name plates with the clocks.  I just picked up a diversion 180 machine and want to start with some simple tig projects,  Would you be willing to tell me where I can pick up those clocks that you use.  They look like a very simple design and cheap. Thanks Daniel.

Reply:Hey, Fex.I think those clocks are a good idea, and will sell well. What is the material? Is that 5" square tube 1/4"? And are those pipe caps? Any informations will be helpful. How are you going to join the aluminum and steel?Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:Yep, the square tube is 1/4" and the pipe is schedule 40.......The clock face was cut with my plasma then fusion welded to the pipe....... I used a circle cutter from SWAG off road which requires a center punch...... which makes finding the exact center of the face for the clock mechanism super easy.... Perfect every time......On the Aluminum ones, I'm not welding anything on those......Drilling holes and tapping them so that I can use screws to secure all the steel and aluminum together......... those take longer for sure.........Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Thats a grand job there Fex, well done are you making them to sell on or just to give away??have you tried any of the Metal Patinas that give a nice finish?? Oh and before i forget buddy whats this???I thought hang on, the guys bought himself a new workstation and not told his mates here  PS you could make some rustic ones and get them galvanised, likewise a few really rusted ones would look pretty neat too.
Reply:Hey Gerry,I was up late last night thinking of finishes. I wonder if I can chrome one......... that would look cool.......I started an Etsy account........ Reply:You might consider powder coat, some really fancy finishes there.
Reply:Today I worked on some of the steel and aluminum clocks.......... Out of the 8 I cut.... I think I can complete 4 of them......... the others were mis-tapped, or otherwise screwed up by me......Here is one that I successfully finished today........Pics...... Reply:Looks good !  Looking forward for the steel ones. What's it gonna cost for the exhibit space ? Could you go partners with another vendor  ???    Maybe try some  railroad spike work too.
Reply:Hey BD.....Vendor space for the weekend is around $100..... all donated to charity........ which makes it well worth my while.....The specs allow for a 10X10 spot, for which I have purchased a custom black tent with walls with my company name on the front...... I am always willing to share my space with someone of like mind......... I have a steel one on the paint table now..... it is gloss red..... still drying.......Other projects planned: wine bottle racks....... and Connect 4 games......That will take me through March.........Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:To charity, AWESOME !  If you have a company  you should be able to start writing all your gooodies off income tax. I think you can even claim a loss for 4 or 5 years. Should work out about right .     Variety of crafted items is great. You cover more people. Maybe even bring a poster of pictures with work in progress, everyone likes pictures. Might be best if your hood is down .    May sure you bring your daughter to help generate sales. Some people have a soft spot when kids are around. Selling for her college education.  Looking forward to your final results.
Reply:Update.......Just sold a bare metal clock on Etsy......... No paint.... No patina...... Just the bare metal with the clock work.......My wife said "maybe they want to finish it themself".........I never ever thought of that possibility.....I am pretty stoked..............Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook......
