I popped for one of the Arc Zone Sharpie DX (adjustable) tungsten sharpener's. Needless to say I am more than disappointed with the performance. If I want to grind a pencil point it works well, if I try to grind a shallower point it doesn't work worth a crap. AS you can see the shallower grind makes a concave curve into a point. Any suggestions other than sending it back?

Reply:I do the same thing, put my tungsten In the drill and use my diamond Dremel wheel. My Dremel came with a router housing (guard) type piece that clamps to the end and sort of looks like a cone, I filed a few spots at different angles so I could use it as a guide for holding the tungsten. Works like a champ and I have about $35 bucks in it versus 400+ for a tungsten sharpener.Real welders know how to penetrate!(Equipment)Whatever can be used to beat my opponent into submission!

Reply:I have had one for about ten years. I got a replacement wheel for it a couple month ago.I had some college students working on a bridge competition in my shop. I think they put as much tungsten in the puddle as filler metal. Although it is not the best grinder on the market it doesn't cost a grand either. The only way I could see it grinding the tungsten the way the picture depicts, is if it was adjusted to grind on the edge of the disc.
Reply:I got it adjusted correctly..........Works as advertised.......
