Reply:Holy smokes thats all we need. You'd have to do a little work to that though. Need to put some hooks on it. One for a 9" grinder, one for a 4.5" grinder, one for a 4.5" grinder with wire wheel and one for a fifty # box of rod.
Reply:You need 20ft leads cuz your apprentice will be wearing the backpack. He doesn't bath too often, so the 20ft leads are recommended. Hire a couple of his friends and you can have a portable tubing bender and a 50ton press. That's funny. I mean, sure, you can make anything portable. The building of the pyramids in Egypt used "Portable" stones. What's the difference between portable and mobile? Do you have a portable house or mobile home? Reply:These zena's are just scaled down alternator welders, but they are supposed to be pretty heavy duty.  They actually do work, but I don't know how practical the backpack welder would be.  If you walked around here with that strapped on your back, folks would think you were carrying a nuke and shoot you.The zena's apparently get used a lot in conjunction with scissor lifts, because carrying  a gas welder around is too bulky...they just have one of the alternators in place on the engine's pulley system....some of their welders even run off hydraulics!!!  I bought a miller 12vs that was modified to work with one of those lifts (with a zena).  They just have a connector at the bucket were you hook the feeder in...and you just weld away.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
