Help with argon/gas fitting

Ive  spent a few hours searching the web but had no luck finding an adapterthis is the argon input to the machine and is roughly 12mm so should be a half 1/2 inchi pulled the fitting to see if i could find a replacement coupler but that looks like it is about 9mm so it should be 3/8any ideas where i can look for an adapter or replacement fitting for a 'b' size 5/8 female argon/gas linethanks
Reply:I've got the same type of problem as you do... I think I'm just gonna have a custom hose made for this welder that will fit this input. I've tried a few type of coupling connectors, but I didn't like the fit up of the various connectors and couldn't find exactly what I needed. However, they will be the supply house that will have the largest selection of fittings like this. Much more than ACE hardware, your LWS or Granger.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.
Reply:Stop guessing is it pipe thread or not???  Looks like 9mm should be 3/8 what is that supposed to mean.How many threads per inch.Go to a welding shop and have them identify the thread .Its not rocket science.V
Reply:I would just end up making my own....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:It looks like you might need an Oxygen Nut B-HF, Part # WES7 & Hose nipple-B 3/16" Barb, Part # WES18. The hose nipple also comes in different sizes than 3/16" such as 1/4". Attached ImagesMastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.
Reply:Thunderrig15, did your machine have the adapter shown in the first pic I posted? That looks just like my machine but mine came with the adapter, all I had to buy was the B type oxygen nut, hose nipple & hose clamp, most welding suppliers carry those. total cost, apx $2.50 for everything.Last edited by lstilts; 10-02-2012 at 08:51 PM.Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.

Reply:Here's a link to the 98233 HF machine, click on the product manual to the right of the page & download the manual in pdf, then check page 11 for the spec. We already know the male end is an oxygen type "B" which I believe is 9/16" X 18 TPI. the other size listed is 3/8" X 24 TPI.  If it is, then you need a 3/8"-24 female X 9/16"-18 male adapter.
