i am looking for perhaps a hydraulic punch for 1/4 mild steel and aprox 3/8 holes. drilling is not practical for this. any suggestions
Reply:What size/shape is the material in question? Are you wanting a hand-held unit or an ironworker?
Reply:I use a Roper Whitney #20 c-style punch. Cheap for less than $400. Not real practical if you will consistantly punch many holes still faster than drilling. It will punch up to 1/2 inch hole in 1/2 inch thick metal.
Reply:I have a Roper Whitney Number 20 as well- it works well if you can fit it in the small throat depth.http://roperwhitney.com/punching/2-1011.cfmFor hydraulic punches, or even electric, these Nitto's are the cats pajamas- they are very high quality japanese made tools.http://www.oceanmachinery.com/nitto-...able-punch.htmFor made in america, there are the W.A. Whitney punches- a completely different company than Roper Whitney.http://www.wawhitney.com/Products_frame_f.html |
