Reply:It depends on your needs. For magazine style content, our own sister site is (if I do say so myself) unparalleled: http://americanmachinist.comFor forum/discussion, again, our sister site is the largest, though it tends not to be as congenial as here: http://www.practicalmachinist.comIf you're looking to buy used equipment, I would recommend either of the following; we have relationships with both and know them to be good at what they do: http://www.buyused.com and http://www.machinetools.comHope that helps.Bob RosenbaumFormer PublisherPenton's WELDING Magazine
Reply:I second bob in his suggestion of practical machinist and machinetools.comIf you are looking for light duty fab tools for ornamental iron and auto stuff, here are a few more-http://www.mittlerbros.com/http://www.shopoutfitters.com/http://www.jd2.com/http://www.rmdbender.com/products/m100.htmhttp://www.pro-tools.com/http://mtechsupply.com/view_page.php...ers&prodid=184hhttp://www.comeq.com/ttp://www.eaglebendingmachines.com/http://www.coletuve.com/http://www.southern-tool.com/http://www.bossbendersusa.com/http://www.lowbucktools.com/If you are looking for specific tools, ask, and I got lots more. Also, a great reference is this one-http://www.stagesmith.com/Metal-links.html
Reply:Try Grizzly.com, they have lots of metal working tools. Get into their on-line catalog and go to page about 490. From there to the end of the catalog is mostly metal equipment and I think you'll find mostly quality.
Reply:Grizzly.com is one good one.Chinese imports, but very nice quality.. at least all that I have seen and good prices. Washman
Reply:I use Enco for sanding discs, cutting wheels, lathe tooling and so forth. I have an Enco 13X40 geared gap-bed lathe that has been a terrific tool. Enco has a choice of domestic or foreign items also. They are very good on delivery. I'm in California and they have a local warehouse in Nevada. If I order in the morning sometimes I get items by late the next day or the following morning by UPS.www.use-enco.com |
