I know, they are prob junk, but i wont use it much. I cant see spending a lot on a plasma that i will use a half dozen times a year.anyway, does anyone have/had one? who makes them? im figuring china thanks, mike
Reply:This is what everybody tol me when I asked a similar question.http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=7007So I had to buy a Thermal Dynamics, I was pressured into it. Well that's what I told my wife.
Reply:you *think* you'll use it only half dozen times a year... Next thing you know, you'll be cutting everything that the ground clamp will fit on, ( and a few things it won't fit on )Sorry I can't answer your original question, I got a good deal on a Miller... only regret is not getting more amps when I was buying.
Reply:if you have a local HF and can return it if unhapy give it a try. its not the best and getting tips can be a problem unless its local i herd they started carrying them. they will cut just not as nice as the better units.i also agree you will start cutting every thing as soon as you get it, i know i did. i use it all the time now. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:Earlier this year I bought a plasma cutter from http://www.parkermetalworking.com/They are local to me in Arizona, so was able to visit them and pick it up.Yes - they are Chinese imports, but the guys at Parker go through them to check them out, are very helpful. And they give a 15 month warranty. They also now offer a combined plasma/tig (as someone else pointed out, the technology is very similar)
Reply:if you have some place local that you can go to to get it and have it repaired that make a huge diference in the cheaper units. i would feel much safer if i could get it localy than to order over the net on the cheeper units. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:just looked at there site, at almost $900 for a 40 amp unit i think i would have saved up $200 more and gotten the miller spectrum 375 insted. saving only $200 for an off brand is not a verry good deel. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:Hmm, Maybe its the weakness of the dollar, but I paid $600 for mine six months ago, and that was for the 40amp dual voltage unit, which they are now listing for $975. Got to agree, at that price I would go with a known domestic brand. At the time, I could not justify $1000 for a new toy, but my wife would let me slide by with $600.
Reply:being local makes a big diference in chansing an off brand, and at $600 and local its werth giving it a shot. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time. |
