has anybody ever heard of this welder or know anything about it. I recently aquired this for free but the leads are all messed up and need to be replaced. i have used many arc welders but never worked on one or replaced the leads on one. Are leads kinda a generic thing or will I need special ones for this welder? would really like to get this good looking old machine up and welding. it also has a remote cable coming off the negative or electrode side.it is a four pin plug. just asking for alittle help here thanks.

Reply:I have seen some guys replace the leads, you should be able to slide the plastic on the ends back, to expose the allen screws. Just transfer the plugs to new wire.Or, I have seen some folks slide shrink wrap over cracked leads and keep using them. I would lean toward replacement in your case.
Reply:You need to buy new leads. They're gonna keep cracking. The cables are the same, just sold in different diameters. You need to look up a chart on recommended sizes and amperages. Someone here should be able to help u with that. Cable thickness needed is based on the amps you're gonna carry and the distance you want them carried for. So if you only want 25' cables, you can go with a smaller diameter than a 50'. The covers on your connectors should be able to be pulled back and the mechanicals exposed. Usually an Allen nut under there. Scrap the old leads for the copper. Oh, and that's Alcohol abuse. Pick up those beers. Location? It helps to add to your user profile. Many good people here willing to help out. Add a HF box and you got yourself a great tig welder too.Last edited by Drf255; 08-25-2014 at 05:17 AM.
Reply:Thanks for the help guys I will look at the chart and see but most likely 25 ft will be good for me and the beers are empties. No abuse here. Just bad house keeping in the garage. Should I just forget about the remote plug?

Reply:Anybody know a good place to find a decent price on 50 ft of that #2 wire?
