after finishing two guitar sculptures-i try to work now on a real, working guitar...its a 25 year old electric guitar i acquired a very long time ago....will try to transform this aging guitar to look like a  victorian era inspired artpiece....its now in progress and here are some sneak previews of what I have done for now....thanks.Mario Attached Images

Reply:You should call it the Borg when you finish it. LolPretty cool. Would also be neat if you could incorporate some of the mechanical devices to adjust volume, tone and pickups, but not in an obvious way... like taking a gear and turning it for pickup selector, etc.PapaLincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175

Reply:Pretty awesome!Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:Hmmm..... if I thought I could get one to come out 10% as nice as that, I'd think about cutting up my son's guitar and trying that myself. Looks awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product.Last edited by dallas_; 03-11-2013 at 08:29 PM.

Reply:The only problem I see with the acetylene torch knobs for volume are that a real guitarist sometimes likes to do volume swells by rolling the knob with a finger. The lobes on the torch knobs would not allow a smooth roll on/off. For that, I think the bevel gear in the upper left of that first pic would be a better choice. But it is YOUR project so don't let us influence you too much. Can't wait to see it finished up!PapaLincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175
