We're traveling from Eastern Washington to Florida, and are spending a few days in Lakehills Texas, just outside of San Antonio. I have two leveling jacks off of the RV that have failed. Each jack needs two small "spot" welds. I have the jacks off of the RV, and I don't want to have to buy two new jacks for just four spot welds. If I were at home, I would just use my Lincoln Mig welder. Anyhow, thanks in advance.Wen.
Reply:......I hear versions of this weekly in my shop:The 'small spot' welds are the very reason that they broke. It just might take a little more than 4 tacks and might cost more than $10.....and--of course--the customer alerts me--that they'd do it themselvesexcept for whatever reason....signaling that this needs to be a jobon the cheap or free.Blackbird

Reply:If your coming up I35 through Austin and Georgetown, I am 10 miles west of Georgetown and could do it for you. I don't do spot welds though, it will be done right or not at all, but it will be for free.

Reply:Thanks for the responses and offers. I took a six pack of cold beer over to the maint. shop and the maint. supervisor hit it with a stick welder. Took ten minutes, in and out. Good to go!This was such a small job that I didn't want to go into a "shop" and bother them. If I would have seen a post like this in my hometown, I would have been happy to offer to help, but I'm not feeding my family or paying the bills by welding.Anyhow, no worries. Also, really like this area of Texas, the hill country is awesome. Had some of the best BBQ ever at Rudy's just north of San Antonio.
