Tig pin Worth the buy?

I have seen a few guys using pens to hold there filler rod. It holds the rod and you feed it off of a roller. Is it worth the buy or stick to the coventional methods?
Reply:HUH????? ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I think it would be very handy for those that have not developed their own technique for feediing the filler rod smoothly through their hand, but if you have a good feeder technique, I would stay with it. The pen would be another piece of equipment to handle during the welding process.
Reply:I keep thinking about one.  I've got into the habit of moving my hand in towards the weld, it's very irritating when you've almost finished the weld and you can't quite get enough rod without getting your finger into the arc...
Reply:I saw one of these and I had to have one. So, I bought one about 6 months ago. I like the fact that I can use the entire length of filler rod, but with gloves on it is sometimes difficult to get a smooth feed. The long and short of it is, it's a cool toy, but most of the time it just sit on my bench. Not worth what they cost.
Reply:I tried one, didn't like it. I generally work with 1/16 and 3/32 filler, occationally 0.040. I could see it maybe being useful for smaller fillers. The few times I'v tried filler as small as 0.025, it wasn't easy to hand feed. I have trouble getting a consistant grip on it.
