Reply:Cheapest might be 4 harbor freight jack stands.  OR, get 4 of the SUMMER.A couple of 2'  framing squares will help too.http://www.toolup.com/sumner_780375_...d=scsho1062794http://www.toolup.com/search.aspx?Se...rm=pipe+standsLast edited by BD1; 03-28-2013 at 09:05 PM.
Reply:I'd set up saw horses or jack stands and shim them to level and work from there. I've worked off worse floors.Square is easy, pull diagonals..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:i am really not sure what you are building here but i deal with the same stuff. i have built allot of stuff and my garage floor sucks but it's all i have just like you , so what i do is put leveling feet on every corner of everything  i build and just level it every time i use it "if it's portable" . what i use is 3/4 square head bolts and weld a long nut on each corner and i have a socket that fits the sq. head and use my cordless drill to level it "works like a champ" good luck Chris
Reply:Yep, jack stands will help keep everything nice & flat.  Fairly easy to square up the project with a simple framing square or use the 3-4-5 method. Reply:I may not be understanding your post correctly, power...If your sticking things together on the floor you can snap chalk lines & work with plumb bobs, string & shims. If you're gonna weld it out & level it when you need to use it you need shims or leveling feet. Chalk lines are not an excuse not to also pull diagonal measurements as things go along. If you're looking for a good way for one person to tack things up square in 3 dimensions you can make a Z-square.
