k126 gun to power mig 255xt

i was wondering if any one has any experience running a k126 innershield gun to a powermig 255xt the reason is that im wanting to run some .068 nr232 through the powermig 255. also do you guys know if they make a drive roll kit for .068 for this machine? thanks in advance
Reply:I have no personal experience with this combination but I can help you with a couple of things:The 255 will only be able to run the wire up to 160IPM or so, and even that at a fairly low duty cycle.The K126 gun will fit the 255 if you use the K466-6 gun bushing in the welder.They do make drive rolls that fit but I don't know the part # off hand.HTH,JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:ok thanks for the info. i just need to practice for a plate test i have coming up. do you think there will be any prob running the 255 at 18v and 150 wfs
Reply:Your going to let the magical smoke out of that machine if you try and make any thing close to an acceptable weld with 0.68" NR-232Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:Lincoln's chart for 068 NR232 lists at 18 to 19 volts and 110 ipm will draw 195 amps.near max output for your welder. You will have a short duty cycle limit.Slow the wire speed down to 90 or 100 and be able to weld longer.You will be better off finding some 045 wire in a similar type.See your owners manual page B4 top left corner.  it statesThe POWER MIG® 255XT is rated to feed .025through .045" (0.6-1.2 mm) solid or cored electrode sizes.Trying to feed larger than 045 wire may put the motor and control pcb at risk of failing.Warranty will not cover this type of failure.You have a feed head that is used in other feeder systems that can push large wire.Better rethink what you want to do.
