Reply:yes he did. I was searching for a roll bender on the Internet and ran across his. I sent him a message and he called me. He's a real nice guy and we talked for a while.I told him about weldingweb and how much interest there is in various benders. I encouraged him to join up and talk about his bender. He put it in the Buy/sell section not realizing it wasn't appropriate to do so.I'm definately excited about his roll bender because it does up to 2x2 sqtube, you can run it with a drill motor and the price is a lot better than what I've seen elsewhere.I've been bending 1" and 1 1/4 square tube for a while using a forms made from MDF. You may have seen me post about it. Earlier this year I passed on a fence job because it had so many radius sections and I didn't have a roll bender.I've hooked up with these contractors who are sending me high end residential jobs. I bid on one this week that has several turns. I can't pass it up and risk disappointing my referrals and making me look bad.Again I found this guy Mike. I figured inviting him here would be good for members and him.

Reply:The "down pressure" portion looks like it may unlatch somehow and then swivel back out of the way?? Am I seeing the concept right?
Reply:Hello Sandy, I am not sure if I am posting this message to you or to anyone that wants to read it, Anyway, here goes. The "T" handle at the top is the down pressure you were talking about. However, you can only back the top roll by turning the "T" handle. A few turns will be enough to free the part. I built several of these machines about 3-4 years ago,and knock on wood, I have not had any returns, or complaints to date. In a few weeks we will offer rolls for rounds, that you can add to this machine. I have built this machine as if I would be the one using it. I hope to have some new pictures for everyone soon. Reply:This will do 2" ? That is amazing...I have a $6000 bender at work that they do not recomend 2". What wall thickness, and to what radius will it bend 2" square?"If you live in Sacramento you have seen my work."
Reply:Hi, You will not be able to roll 2" square tubing into a tight circle. I have rolled 2"x 2" 14ga. steel tubing into an arch. 14ga. is the max. and it takes severalpasses. Thanks,MikeToolmaker www.rolxtools.com

Reply:Me I don't need to bend anything bigger than 1" very often. I did have to recently for this gate. The biggest I could do was 1 1/4 and it took me 10 feet of tube to bend a 3ft piece. (leverage)
Reply:here is the type of job where your bender would begin to pay for itself. Attached Images
