need help identifying an old lincoln welder

all i know about it is that it's diesel powered and that's about it.. is she any good? how much she worth? and info would be appreciated
Reply:Well... That would depend. Get the model / serial numbers and go the Lincoln website. There is an area under "Support" that will allow you to read the owners manual. Go to Ebay and enter the info and see if there are some listed.If it runs and welds it is of value. If it doesn't weld then it's worth 15 cents a pound.HoboLincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.

Reply:WARNING!! WARNING!! Lincoln made a bunch of Weldanpower AC/DC machines using cheap welded tube material for the slip rings. After a bunch of wear, they BREAK right at the weld and it is completely uneconomical to fix the machine. At that point you THROW IT AWAY. It happened to me. Ouch! I actually was able to get a few bucks for it as scrap, engine, shrouding and all. I recommend you PASS on old Weldanpower AC/DC machines!metalmagpie
