I was helping a friend move and was given a couple 50lb CO2 bottles in exchange. They were in his place when he moved in, but his landlord wanted them gone when he moved out. I was more than happy to help When I got them home, I noticed they're marked PEPSI PBC on the top. They take standard CO2 threads, my flowmeter screws right onto them. One of the bottles is nearly empty, the other seems to have a reasonable amount of CO2 in it - it weights significantly more, and is at much higher pressure. Has anyone had any luck either swapping or filling Pepsi stamped bottles at Airgas? If not, any luck getting Pepsi to pick them up - and have they paid anything for them?Lincoln 175HD
Reply:Before I went to co2/argon getting those bottles filled was very easy, the LWS swapped them out no questions. I bought one sold as scrape and got it swapped out too.
Reply:I once got seven or eight from a closing bowling alley, some of them so marked, and had a few filled/swapped by my LWS. Two had been improperly used and had liquid, either water or coke/pepsi in them, and one of those became a bell -- which showed the corrosion inside from that misuse, to any who looked inside. It appeared to me that none of the bottles had been used in years.
Reply:If your LWS will not swap them, maybe you could have a bar swap them out for the refill fee.Though I have no idea what Pepsi charges for full bottles.
Reply:I would be more worried about the LWS wanting a stress test date......... Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock |
