what size ground cable do i need if i run 30ft. on a 320/330 a/bp.  the cable and clamp i have is really small.also, what gauge wire for the leads. (from machine to wall)thanks
Reply:Not sure what a 320/330 a/bp is, but 2/0 for your ground and hot leads will be fine, as for the input power, ask an electrician6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers

Reply:Originally Posted by KelvinThat's for a continuous load. Because welders have a duty cycle, they are not expected to pull a continuous wide-open-throttle load. I'm not sure, but I think 7A749 was right – AWG6 is OK for 100A for a welder. I now think I was wrong when I said AWG8 would be OK. Whatever the case, NEC 630 should have the answer.

Reply:ok, let me totally understand.for my 320 a/bp. if the machine does not go farther than 15' from the wall, my power cable from the wall outlet to the machine can not be smaller than 4gauge. correct? this should be copper stranded wire? rightfor the ground cable i want a 30' cable. will the 1/0 cable still be ok? also in copper stranded correct?thanksmike
