Does anyone know who makes PowerMate arc welders?
Reply:Powermate is a Coleman brand name, unless it is Power-mate then it could be someone else.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Yes I did a google search and saw that coleman made a product by that name.It is Power Mate and I just can not find anything about a welder made by that name. Its one I picked up today.Says its made in the US but I am unsure who produced it.Does not matter I guess it seems to weld fine.
Reply:Someone in an old thread on an autobody forum said that he owned a "Powermate" mig welder in the 90's and that the company was bought out by Century. Here's a link to that thread:http://www.autobodystore.com/forum/showthread.php?t=838Hope that helps.cricman
Reply:Thanks cricman.I am jujst about to do a little welding with it.I tried it before I bought it and it seems to work fine.It came with about 50 lbs of 1/8"inch6013 and extention cables that will reach further out into my pole barn.I paid $200 so if it works a while I should be fine. |
