Very new to welding aluminum but have been having decent success on 1/8 with my powermig 256 and magnumSG spoolgun. I would like to pickup some 0.060 wall tubing (6061) for a new project but am wondering how touchy it will be with my setup. I see on thr chart in thr door there is a recomended setting using 0.030 4043 wireThanksJeff
Reply:Why not buy some and try it out? Personally, I wouldn't use a mig for something that thin. But I'm much better with a tig torch than a mig gun.Lincoln Precision Tig 185Lincoln Power Mig 256Hypertherm PM 45Everlast 140STSmith O/A

Reply:A lot ia going to depend on your machine. Some will do fine and others will burn it up...
