im still looking for a table top. a place in Ft. Piece has a 49"x97"x1"he said thats how there made. what should the actual dimensions be.
Reply:not sure what you mean,  its nominal 4x8 sheet.  sheet goods that are subject to edge damage typically come an inch oversize.XMT 350 MPa, w/D52-DTA 185 TSWHarris of
Reply:3% more free!    I think MDF (medium density fiberboard) is the same way.I have a piece of 2' x 3' x 1" for my TIG table top.  It's bowed about .040" in the long direction.  Need to get it machined one of these days...

Usually 1/2" to 3/4" oversize is normal.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm

Steel is sold by weight so the extra inch will add about 40 lbs to your plate. A lot of time one edge will be rounded so take that into account... on a table that can be a plus.
Reply:i think its secondary steel
