just bought a everlast power pro 205 from a friend and have been welding on aluminum for a few weeks trying to get better at it. i have been doing all my welding on 3/8 thick aluminum plate not sure what type it is. I have been having pretty good results(well for a first timer lol) i have been spending about 2 hrs every morning for about 2 weeks trying to get it down. i was getting good welds with it and went through a couple of tanks of argon the small bottle and then i traded it in for a large bottle so i wouldnt have to go the the welding shop as often and since i hooked it up i cant get a good weld one...so is their any way to gt bad argon?? and if so how do you know if it is?? i will post a few pics later on tonight thanks in advance..
Reply:Yes, you can get one or more contaminated bottles. But other issues will/may give you the same symptoms. The easiest way is if youve not punctured the argon line or changed ANYTHING is to change the bottle. But there have been documented repeated issues from the same LWS on contaminated argon. Reply:we get batches of bad gas on occasion. it is important in our work because alot of our clients come to us for the bright shiny stainless steel welds. just make sure they don't give you another bottle with the same batch number.'14 HTP invertig 221Thermal Arc 201ts'15 HTP 2400'13 Hypertherm Powermax 30Esab 875Esab 251Clark Metal Servicespecializing in stainless steel exhaust systems |
