Reply:no guarantee from the land of ebay : , )
Reply:i can't find any info other than the stuff on e-bay.sure would like to know more.its right in my $$$ range.
Reply:Price is right!  Very intersted.  Sellers reviews on ebay are hit and miss.  would hate to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery.  Someone should buy one and let me know how it works.
Reply:ok,i'll start say'n for it.give me a couple of weeks and i'll order it.in the mean time whats everyones opion about 110 plasma unit?i know that i learned alot when i went from a 110 mig(linc 3200) to a `220 mig,so this might be the same.i don't know anything about plasma cutters except that they cut metal.never even seen one work except on  TV.thx in advance for any inputmatts dad
Reply:I have used 110 plasma cutters on a few occasions and they worked fine.  We were primarily cutting out various designs from light gage sheet metal well within the machines capability.  I think the machine was rated for up to 3/16 or 1/4 but we never tried over 14 gage.I have used a 220 miller plasma cutter at a local high school ag science shop and it cut 3/8 material with no trouble. This Dayton Firefly is interesting primarily due to its price.  If it is a reasonablequality machine a lot of people would be interested.
Reply:yep,i read most of the reviews on e-bay about it.thought maybe dayton had a website but could'nt find anything on the firefly.most of the reviews were on the positive side for the machine and not so good for the seller, said it took a long time to ship.called my local welding supplier and he had never heard of dayton firefly but has a 110 rig in stock for 600.00+ .so,it would be great if this was as good as it looks.
Reply:Interesting choice of names here.   Checked: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/productIndex.shtml and found nothing made by Dayton there. In any event to avoid going off on a tangent with respect to business ethics I have to wonder if the unit uses standard consummables.     That is the real challange with a tool like this.    If getting consummables is a pain it isn't worth having.   On the other hand if it is compatiable with other hardware it looks like a bargain. It looks like the maximum rating is 1/4" which really isn't bad.   I wonder what the good quality thickness is.   I also am wondering if it would cut the mustard in a gantry type machine.   There is mention of start with touch and untouch.Dave
Reply:Everyone knows you get what you pay for.  Personally I would save that 300 and put some more with it to get a well known, reputable product.  That would be an expensive lesson if it's not all it's cracked up to be.  Also think about the people that's giving the reviews, do they know how well a plasma is supposed to cut?   Only way I'd do it is, if I could return it or if I saw a demo on it.  Just my .02DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

We do not have a website up for the welding line yet but our parent Co. does have a site displaying all the brand names at www.paper2production.com you can order from the contact info there also see www.cncwoodrouter.com that site has a link to our US made machine. Customer Service can be called at 1-888-664-4439Tara
Reply:Tara thank you for checking in and for the info. these sure look like a good "off brand" solution to a typically large investment. please let us know when there is a website as well, and what is the retail price we can expect to pay?thanks
Reply:As others have stated thanks for checking in with us.     Frankly the machine is inteeresting as havign some exposure to electronics I know the value of the components doesn't always justify the price of the name brands. In any event the questions:1.    Does the unit supprot the use of common consumables?    That is can I go down to the local weld shop and buy replacement parts for the nozzle/torch off the shelf?2.    When will your web site be up?3.   Will you ( I do HOPE else interest will be lost) have available on line soon the manual for this machine?4.   What safety standards is the machine currently complaint with?I hope that isn't to much to research.     A good web site would have answered most of the questions.   Hint Hint. Reply:No response here, ignored a pm here as well as a question on eBay and now I noticed they have made their feedback private...not good signs Did anyone buy one of these?
Reply:I agree not good signs. It is unfortunate as I personnally belive that much of the inverter based technology from the mainstream manufactures is over priced significantly.     A little low cost competition would be very helpful.    In any event if these guys can't bring something to market somebody else will.     Of course part of the problem might just be an issue with dealing with the Chinese.Such a machine as was described was and is appealing.    That is a machine that runs on 110 volts or 220 vots at low current suitable for cutting sheet metal and thiner stock up to about 3/16".    Especially at $300 dollars.I geuss we will all have to keep our eyes pealed for an alternative supplier.Dave Originally Posted by bhaysNo response here, ignored a pm here as well as a question on eBay and now I noticed they have made their feedback private...not good signs Did anyone buy one of these?
Reply:Here is a pic of consumables, listed on ebay as several names...from several sellers. http://www.ebaycreditcardcheckout.co...17/1051714.htmThey seem like fairly normal sized consumables...nothing out of the ordinary.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:If this is the Dayton Plazma Cutter from CNCwoodrouter.com, I would encourage you to avoid them. I purchased one of their plazma cutters back in March and I still have not recieved it. They claimed that it is due to shipping problems from China. They no longer respond to my emails. They have no address or phone number on their site. If anyone has any info on them I would appreciate having it. Regards
Reply:Glad I caught this thread since I've been wanting a plasma cutter.  Been  checking e-bay but could not pull the trigger on a low cost unit, mainly due to positive seller feedback (not product feedback) that all used the exact same text and some bad feedback about paying and not receiving.  I'm now willing to pay more to buy from a seller with real storefront, even if it's the local HF store.TeddCoHTP Microcut 400 & Invertig 160DC  Smith Dual Guard MD-510 OA Rig  Lincoln SP135+  Hobart Stickmate LX 235/160

Reply:It is now September 25, 2006.  Since my last post, I still have yet to receive any return calls or emails in any forum on the internet.  I have copies of every email and a list on times that I attempted to telephone Tara.  I even left messages with her 'answering service'.  I have yet to receive any responses in any way shape or form.If you are interested in buying anything, and learn that Tara or Paper2Production is involved, RUN AWAY!Despite my numerous attempts to receive my product or a refund, I still sit here with nothing but a depletion from my bank account.  I am initiating a suit against this company and naming Tara.  As I have mentioned, I have every piece of correspondance to her and from her up until she refused to respond any longer.  JFO
Reply:I received my Dayton 40 earlier this summer. Right out of the box it was dead and needed to be repaired. After repairing it I used it for about a total of five minutes and it died again(different problem). Contacted Tara at Paper2production who gave me an address to ship it to for replacement. It has been over a month now that they've had it and refuse to answer emails or return phone calls. Honestly I'd rather have my money back instead of the machine. Right now I've got neither. Earlier this month I bought a Hypertherm Plasma cutter and couldn't be happier with it. Should have skipped the chinese junk and gone with the hypertherm to begin with. I've learned my lesson. Save your money and stay away from these people.Dave
Reply:geez  i've been gone for a while.looks like i was lucky enough to put off buying from those guys.sorry to hear about the people who got ripped off.where are they located at?maybe a call to the local DA's office would wake'em up.just my 2 cents.mats dad

RegardsI two am a victim of these criminals.  I have been waiting 7 months and just like another user stated was promised my unit would ship out on 08-26-2006.  That was the last time I heard from Tara.  I have opened a case with the Georgia Better Business Bureau as well as the FBI's internet fraud division IC3 complaint dept.  If you want, send me your info, name address number, and ebay auction and I will have both agencies update the claims with that info.  Also if anyone is getting a lawyer and needs emails, I to have everything catalogged.  I did speak to their messenging service and explained what I was going through.  I was told to contact a supervisor with them and they may be able to contact Tara.  I will be doing that later this evening or tommorow, and will update everyone.  I was alos able to get a phone number for whom I believe is the so-called CEO and or owner of this scam.  He goes by K. Smith.  Again all I get is his voicemail.  I will post the number tommorow and we can all start calling on a daily basis.

Reply:update on x7 firefly from http://www.paper2production.com/.after many emails and phone calls i received a reply that paper2productions would upgrade me to one of their more powerfull units.  i waited a addtional 3 weeks and finally received a 30amp unit.   i then purchased addtional items to attach to a 220 power outlet.(x7 firefily was listed as a 120vac).   i turned it on it ran approx 4min then stopped working with a very strong smell of burnt electronics.  so i'm back to emailing and leaving message's and getting response.
Reply:well dont know what took place but i received a 2nd 30amp unit from paper2production.  i tested it and it seems to work.  i hope the rest of you can have your issues resolved.  no letter of explanation was packaged with unit just my delivery info.  as i said in my earler message i  had no email or phone response from this company.  i'm just going to accept my good fortune and enjoy my plasma cutter untill if fails?  i always kept my email messages civil and to the point and resent same message twice a day for months/weeks/days don't know if that helped?  good luck welding friends

Reply:RSCP I just spoke with officer Smith at the Bruinswick Police Department. He collected my info plus he is looking at this web site with all of our postings. He was very helpful and seemed very interested in the case. Good luck!
Reply:If you want your old one " hauled off" ... im interested. On a different note, glad to see something finally came of it.  I was interested in one of those 'low dollar' plasmas, but finally settled on a Spectrum 375.
Reply:wondering why you hooked a 110 unit into 220 volts ? i paid for a  220 40 amp unit and thats what i want or a complete refund .  has any one bought any of the loiw priced ones thats now on ebay?
Reply:the x7 firefly was listed as a 20amp unit with a input voltage of 110 volts.   the 30amp unit i received has a required input voltage of 220 volts.  so my power source requirements needed an addtional 220 volt circuit.
