working on a welding cart that doubles as a torch cooler. Didn't get as far as I wanted to when I was home but will get on it again in a few weeks. Didn't draw up any plans but I plan to beef it up a little more and make a small tank at the bottom, pump willl draw from tank then circulate through the tube around the cart then return to the tank. I am thinking a valve after the connection to the torch to create the working pressure for it. This is a bit above my welding skill level but I am learning a lot building it. fun stuff
Reply:I should have taken a few more close ups of the welds to get more help. Of course I took a shot of the best looking one, lol. Outside corners are tough, it is my first time using tig for aluminum

Reply:Looks good. I read that you can use Loctite 290 or 294 rated as wicking grade to apply post weld to help seal up welds that aren't water tight. Guys use it for water table builds on CNC plasmas.
Reply:Looks great man! I'm impressed that is the kind of weld you are able to do with this being your first aluminium project.
Reply:thanks, I will look at shovelon's carts, I didn't see anything like it anywhere to get an idea, definitly would like to see one finished. I happened to read a post DSW made on a aluminum cart build and thought that was a great idea. Probably should have waited to post till I was finished but with the way I work I don't get much time to play. Cool about the loctite, I am going to pressure test it with water before I go any farther to check for leaks. I have plenty of time to plan the rest out before I egt to work on it again, around the honey do list that is

Reply:Practice Practice Practice is all I read about, and I believe it. Ha, I do all this practicing with a pen and invisible filler rod, I pretend I have a TIG, so one day, my dreams may come true. One day... |
