Hey folks, Its been a while since I posted,  Have been sick, broke, and job hunting so the welding business is on the back burner, but I have got a couple things done!The mailboxes are 16ga powdercoated with all stainless hardware. the wrench thing I had posted before but they are now powdercoated as well!.The table is my water table for the plasma cutter (for manual cutting), it works out that small 3 inch clamps will fit between the grate so I can clamp things right to the table! Reply:Is there some kind of gasket on the inside of those mailbox doors?  If not water will get in there and you will have wet mail.

Reply:I've had 3 of these mailboxes at the end of my driveway through a canadian winter with no gaskets and not much in the way of wet mail.  We had some mailbox baseball action last fall which resulted in every mailbox for about a mile got trashed along with posts, signs and anything smashable...the post is sunk in 2 and a half feet of concrete.the new boxes in my first pic a 16ga the ones at the end of the driveway are 1/8".can't wait for some kid with a bat to take a swing at it loldear envious...touche! Reply:Nice looking mailboxes. The only problem is the USPS mailman won't always put mail in a box that does not have their stamp of approval on them.I made a mailbox and had to modify by installing a store bought mailbox inside it before they would deliver the mail.
Reply:Nice job.  I was thinking about making a mail box and now you got me thinking again. Did you use a finger brake for the door ?  I'm still trying to find one for a reasonable cost.   Put a posting of them on craigs list . Might be able to make some money !

Reply:LOL, tin mail boxes......in OZ we have brick mail boxes......some metal and wood ones on poles too, but the weather rots them out.I think an airgun would solve your box bashing brethren when they come around.....Heh Heh.Ian.
Reply:I've never had a problem with mailbox bashers, but apparently there was a spate of that before we moved here - there are a number of brick-encased mailboxes and one that appears to have been fabricated from heavy wall 8 inch pipe.  Might even feel a bit sorry for the idiot that takes a swing at the pipe box, thinking it's just another bendable one...
