Reply:Looks great. and I'm jealous you have snow..  it seems to be missing my part of the state this year. :/www.thefusionsolution.com
Reply:Nice looking job.If you plan on keeping the truck any amount of time, cut some holes for access to the upper spring pivot, in a couple of years time you'll be glad you did. A removable plate over the hole will keep the crap out. I keep forgetting on the ones I build and the mechanics are forever grossing me out....Mike
Reply:Looks good. You should get extra credit for working outside!

Reply:Dam thing must be heavy!!!  It looks Great I wish I had the time to build one for my truck.Very Nice Craftsmenship!   Where about in North Jersey are you??Some Blue , Some Red & Some GreyProverbs 16:2-3.2 "All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
Reply:Thanks everyoneYeah the body got on the heavier side but the truck didn't really sag much even load with all my tools and welders.Yeah working outside all the time is horrible.... but i just rented a shop in wood-ridge so no more outside fabrication except on-site work. That's a good idea about the spring bolts. I'll have to do that.
Reply:Looks very well thought out and built, you should be proud and pleased.  The only suggestion that I have would be to change out the side mirrors to telescoping “trailer towing” mirrors to see around the Utility Body.  They will also help when backing up a short wheel based trailer.  Enjoy the new shop.Everlast PowerPro 256, Everlast W300 Cooler, Everlast Cart 250Millermatic 211, Spoolgun 100, Miller HD CartJackson W60 Truesight Digital Auto Darkening, Victor 315 Torch sitting on a Harper 830-86 cart

Reply:I love building truck bodies, flatbeds, dumps, even the utility would be nice.Wish more guys would spend the money to go the custom route.  Do you have a break, I know you would have done more of the cabinets that way but how did you do the doors.  What guage on the body skin, and how thick is the structural frame.  Always wondered how it would be welding out of a van, do you like it and can you post some pictures of the inside and layout of the van setup.  Nice work."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251   Syncrowave 300   30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200   1 short hood    SA250    SAM 400
Reply:Thanks againI got the name FABCON from FABrication and CONstuction.Yeah I need to put larger mirrors on. Visibility is horrible right now.No i don't have a break..(wish i did). I wanted to have an actual frame to the body instead of relying on bent sheet metal. It sort of became a hybrid between a flat bed and a utility body. the only thing i got bent was the diamond plate for the bed and I had my metal supplier bend it for me.Main body Stucture:       1-1/2"" x 1-1/2" x 1/16" stBody Paneling:               14g sheetFloor Pans                     11g sheetWheel wells                   11g sheetDoor frames                    1" x 1" x 1/8" stBed Floor                       1/8" Diamond plateThere is also some 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/8" st in certain spots that I knew where going to carry a lot of weight like where I mounted the welder and the verticals that I mounted the roof rack to.Welding out of the van was ok... but I built the new rig to replace it because a few main reasons.1. No work bench2. crawling in and out for tools gets old quick3. had to open all doors to run welder4. 2 wheel drive5. when fully loaded had to unload everything to get to some tools6. just listening to all the tools/material on bouncy roads drove me crazyOther than that I love that van... gonna be sad to see her go. The duramax in it is amazing
Reply:Awesome job bud. Keep the pictures coming.Shake and Bake
Reply:Some really bad cell phone pics... truck is inside my new shoptook my rack off the van, cut the gutter mounts off and welded it to the new body.still have to hinge the rear of the rack so I can put tall things and motorcycles in the back.also made a slide out tailgate for it. Attached Images
