Reply:Mario, I like your Ninja grinding mask.  Seeing you grind without a grinder guard scares me.  Maybe you could at least find a leather apron and a full-face shield.  Be safe."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Your art truly inspires me Mario. Really. I'm working on some things, a little different than the medium you work in. I will share once it gets done

Reply:Years ago, I was in Indonesia and a guy on the street offered to sell me a Kris.  It was absolutely gorgeous, very finely made from an age when the workmanship was perfect.  Very ornate hilt and grip. I passed on it, thinking there must be some antiquities law that prevented the export of such a thing.  Maybe the guy had a scam going with the local airport guys where he would get it back and split the profits. Or perhaps it was stolen. I have about 6 dozen various knives and machetes from Thailand.  Most are just "using knives" but a few of the ones made by the hill tribe people are quite well made, though not fancy. I have two farm knives from an old blacksmith I used to work with.  All hand-forged from leaf springs."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
