Reply:I just go to the supply house and buy bare brass brazing rod. I have a quart can of powdered flux for gas brazing at the shop..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Brass on brass would be welding. Never had any luck with it. But I have had some luck silver brazing brass, with 56% cad free wire, and Tig using silicon bronze. Even had better luck tigging with sil-phos 15% silver.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:I was going to say silver solder. Never thought about the sil-phos. I'll have to try that some day. Now if he's going to be joining steel or cast iron then he wants silicon bronze for tig and low fuming brazing rod for gas.
