For my neighbor and his tree company. I started with some 4140 steel and turned them to size. Then i drilled the spray holes while still mounted in my lathe with my cross slide hole driller then turned the taper with my home made taper attachment then finally the sharp pont with a disc sander. Don't need to be pretty since they just go in the dirt...Bob1st pic, cross slide hole driller on another project, and tapping some set screw holes.2nd pic, cutting the long taper.3rd pic, spray point done. Reply:When i make the taper attach for my heavy ten i am going to used a piece of flatbar for the sine bar instead of how i did mine with the round bar. I will just make the rollers in 3 pcs to save some cutting and to get a nice fit in the slot...BobBob WrightSalem, Ohio Birthplace of the Silver & Deming Drillhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/southbend10k/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sawking/1999 Miller MM185 w/ Miller 185 Spoolmate spoolgun |
