Here is a simple project i finally finished. A boring head for my SB lathe in the correct .602 taper for the spindle. Don't know if i will use it but it was fun to make. Reply:Looks real good. I just clamp my 4" in the 3 jaw when boring in the walking beam jig bolted to the lathe carriage.
Reply:That is a nice job!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:I used it today, i got bored with the New Years stuff. My tool block sometimes hits my live center so i cut a clearance cut in it ...BobPic #1 Cutting.Pic #2 Clearance cut in tool block for dead center.Pic #3 Cut done.Pic #4 Using wrench and spindle procector to push the tapered arbor from the spindle. It fits real tight when pulled in by the arbor shaft.
