Reply:I will. Get some pics up if I ever get it put together. Worst directions i've ever seen for anything.
Reply:where did you get that at??  tractor supply or northernI've got a small one like it, don't remember who made it but can't keep the blade on. Just haven't taken the time to adjust the guides since I don't use it very often, when it was working it cut pretty good. I usually reach for the portaband or the plasma cutter.Good luck with it.G3miller... 225g, s32p, 250x, 304, 12vs, MSW41     victor o/a thermal dynamics cutmaster 50 lenco panel spotter        hobart hf-boxG3 Farms.....raising cattle, hay, kids and hell, ...oh yeah I'm a fire sprinkler contractor by trade.
Reply:They are good little saws once you do a little to them....get a good bi metal blade for it ASAP...change the oil in it and make sure you clean it out as some have had casting sand still in them and don't you dare fill it with regular gear oil  .....and build a better stand for it as the one that comes with it isn't very sturdy...square it up and go to town.....
Reply:Bought it at TSC. I think I am missing some hardware. The instructions are the worst I have ever seen for anything.
Reply:I've always wanted to buy one but i worry they wont cut square. let us know how it works out.
Reply:Search the web for "4x6 bandsaw".  Those are sold under a bunch of different brand names.  There's a decent following with ideas for improving their performance.
Reply:Here is a site that I use:4x6bandsawI have these:HDC Metal Band SawNorthern Industrial Tools Metal Cutting Band Sawand am happy with both of them - as I am sure you will be with yours - after the initial couple of days of "cleaning, adjusting, changing, modifying, etc." that I usually associated with any imported tools.Arvid
Reply:I still have the instructions for my JET band saw. It's probably very similar.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:I got to figure out how to put it together lol. It's got like 3 steps for assembly. Says for example " use 4 bolts, nuts, washers" o.k. WHICH ones? LOL. Different sizes and such. Says something about special "D" shaped washers. DONT have them. Very vague. I emailed them but no response yet. Does the site you refer to, possibly someone have some help there you think?
Reply:Any help would be appreciated. I am going to go to garage tonight to see if I can get anywhere on it.

Reply:I've got one of those that my dad bought at least 25 years ago. It's still doing great. I've noticed that he put shims on the guide arms, apparently to align them. It cuts perfectly square with a good blade.I almost never use it as a horizontal saw though. It sees alot of use in the vertical position with the table installed. I've been meaning to make a bigger, sturdier cutting table for it.Miller EconotigCutmaster 38Yes ma'am, that IS a screwdriver in my pocket!
Reply:Congrats on the new saw.If ya want you can send it to me and I'll put it together and run a 1000hr test on it for ya. No charge even!My Photos on Flickr
Reply:LOL, kool Wildcat, see why can't everyone be so generous. I am getting some ideas off of the computer. Like was stated, I guess it doesn't matter about which hardware goes where. As long as it serves it's purpose. Just annoyed by the directions.
Reply:they are good little saws.  I just wish they made a larger one with a similar price point. I've had mine for a while and cut alot of stuff with it.  Some people have claimed they cut super slow but those are the ones that put the blade on backwards... If you adjust it right it will cut nice and square. Out of the box it's not adjusted
Reply:Well I am actually getting somewhere today. Almost got it together. I can't believe how low to the ground it is. The top of the legs come to the top of my knees. I thought it was a joke and they put a Playschool toy in the box. Is your guys' all real short. I'll post some more pics when I get it finished together.

Reply:Wow, amazing I almost have it put together. It is together but I am unsure about the pulley cover, an extra part, and a part on the saw. What is this and where does it go? Attached Images
Reply:How does the pulley cover mount? I have it on but it is not screwed or bolted down. Do the pulleys themselves hold it on? Attached Images
Reply:What does this part do? It is kinda loose and moves up and down unless you tighten the bolt. Don't see what it does though. Attached Images
Reply:These are the only parts I have left for hardware which I assume some of it is going to go to the vertical support plate. So I really appreciate the help. Without you guys I couldn't have goter done lol. Attached ImagesOriginally Posted by Addicted2FusionWhat does this part do? It is kinda loose and moves up and down unless you tighten the bolt. Reply:Good idea. That might be that it holds it up now that I notice the notches more. I'll take the pulley cover off and take a pic of it. I don't see how it mounts/screws to the saw itself. I have no clue what the hell that disc is.
Reply:I'd say the disk is a test cut....
Reply:Oh yeah? hmmmm. It was in a sealed wrapper covered in oil.
Reply:If I can figure out how the pulley cover is supposed to be attached (don't think pulleys hold it in place?) I will be ready to start dialing her in.
Reply:Originally Posted by Addicted2FusionOh yeah? hmmmm. It was in a sealed wrapper covered in oil.
Reply:o.k. that's kool. I will try to get a pic of the pulley cover and maybe you guys can tell how it is secured and then I can use the thing. lol.
Reply:That one part below the notches is exactly what you said. Holds the saw up. DUH! LOL. I never even noticed the notches til you said that. I still haven't figured out how to secure the pulley cover. It has 2 openings on it. An oval one and a regular hole. Don't see what it would secure to though.
Reply:There should be two threaded holes somewhere near the pulley.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
Reply:The only holes I see are way below the pulley on the saw body itself.
Reply:Well, I FINALLY got it all done and did some test cuts. Cuts nice but it isn't perfectly square. I can eyeball the blade and see that it is out of line some. The left side of the blade needs adjusted in some. Like the rest of the directions there lousy. So can you guys give me some tips and tell me how to get the blade to cut perfectly square. I love how nice it cuts though. Alot quieter and cleaner than the ole chop chop!
Reply:These saws probably all come from the same factory and are just painted different colours.  Below is a link to the Delta bandsaw.  It has exploded diagrams on the left side.  Hope it helps.http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/Prod...3216&tid=10075

Reply:Yeah, still need to get blade adjusted. Which blade (specs) are you guys switching to when you replace yours?
Reply:Get a bi metal....what are you planing on cutting ? thickness and material...stainless, mild, al, brass etc.....I put a 10/14 on mine and it does nice from 2"solid round down to 1/8" angle iron....
Reply:after bending down over and over again you need to make a real stand:http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=7671I have the harbor freight saw. After some tweaking, I love it. I had issues though where the blade absolutely would not stay on, was driving me *nuts*. Replaced with a brand-name blade and problem went away completely.I had to mill down one of the guide roller brackets to effectively 'twist' the blade a bit to get it to cut straight in the vertical plane. I think your guides have a different system though. In any case have patience, after some adjusting it can be a real nice tool.- John
