Reply:I have a 200X supposed to be beaver and cashmere.   Really no better than a 100X and honestly my 20X had better body as far as I'm concernedVantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
Reply:Don't think I charge that much for a hat. My prices are geared to the working man like myself. 10x starts at $225, 50X $350 and 100x $495.I started making hats because my dad wanted a 100X custom made and they were going to charge him $1200. He said no and I made it a mission to leart the trade and make my dad his hat. So the very first hat I made was my dad's. I liked it so much I made me one just like it. Mine is the black one.Century AC 100 stick (dead but trying to fix it)Everlast PA 160 STHhttp://www.riograndehatters.comhttp://www.texashatcleaners.com

Reply:My lady friend has a hat she paid 1500 euro's for....she was mad because when she moved to north america they make the riders wear helmets at shows and she cant wear her proper hat she had made.Nice hats though, I want one in the near futurehttp://www.forgingtechnology.com/

Reply:Very nice work. Never been a big traditional cowboy hat fan for some reason, but I do like a nice fedora. I'd rather wear a nice full brim hat than a baseball cap any day.  Originally Posted by ironmanjayThere is only 135 hatters left in this country and I take pride in carrying on a craft and tradition that started with John B. The drop in demand for beaver top hats and then fedoras and such probably also didn't help much. Out of curiosity did you consider "the mad  hatter" as your  moniker?

Reply:Dambed nice hats Jay.Nicest I had was a Biltmore 50x.  I wore it for 5yrs then sold it to a German who was into collecting cowboy and SASS stuff.  It was still in good enough shape that he thought it was worth $60 + the fare to Germany.Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
Reply:Question for you Jay. I've got a couple of felt hats that came to me from my father/grandfather. They weren't stored covered so the dust bunnies have had a field day on them while they were sitting up in an old closet. ( ie the brown hats are pretty much gray right now...) Other than vacuuming them, and suggestions on how to clean them well other than maybe dry cleaning?  I'd like to clean them up so I can use them on occasion..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan

Reply:Your hats are incredible! Great work man! I would buy one in a heartbeat, but the only time I wear them is on my tractor for long days in the sun, so I buy cheapies. Plus it would be a shame to spray one of yours down with bug spray and then sweat in it all day. Great craftsmanship I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
