Hello all,I am doing a project and need a metal box. I don't have the stuff I need to build one without it weighing a million pounds. What I am looking for is a Sentinel pistol safe. It is green with the round key and was sold by Wally World for a long time and fits on top of the rifle safe they sold.I saw one of these and it is perfect for what I am building. If you have one, please let me know your price. Thanks,Bob
Reply:Sentinel is made by Stack-On procuctshere is a link to pistol safe'shttp://www.stack-on.com/securityplus...mmo/index.htmlif you see what you want contact their customer serviceP.O. Reply:Bingo!!!!!!!!!!This is the box I need.http://www.stack-on.com/securityplus.../gc-900-5.htmlMy ozone generator will be done soon. Can't wait. Thanks elderthewelder.Bob
Reply:no problem, All I did was Google Sentinel pistol safe and found the info. Took me a whole 5 minutes
Reply:You're better than me. I tried it several times and could not find them. Thanks
Reply:Bob WarnerMy ozone generator will be done soonyou planing on saving the planet from all the SUV's ??elderthewelder no problem, All I did was Google Sentinel pistol safe and it must be a gift, some people seem to find any thing that way. i'm like Bob i can never find what i'm looking for. all i ever get is junk that has nothing to do with what i'm looking for. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:I must have had a stupid attack when searching for this. I am usually quite good at finding things on the web.Not planning on saving the planet, just making a little side cash with it. Got people waiting for me to get it done. Got a hotel that is interested also.
Reply:ok i'll bite what dose it do that they want it ???? is it just like the oxygen bar thing that was a crazz for a wile???? i know ionic breeze is advertizing a ozone maker on there purifyers, so what is it , or dose it do ??? summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:Sorry, forget that others do not have the same interests that I do. I always assume (Yes, I know what that does) they know what the heck I am talking about.I am building an ozone generator. An ozone generator is used for odor control. For example, if you bought a house or a car that was owned by a person that smokes and still smells of smoke. An ozone generator can eliminate that odor for good. It actually eliminates the odor atoms by oxidizing them. The smell will not come back.Basically, ozone is oxygen. Oxygen as we know it is two atoms of oxygen or O2. An ozone generator splits the oxygen into single atoms. Single atoms of Oxygen do not like being alone so they find the first atom they can to connect to. That is usually regular oxygen. So it creates O3.As the O3 floats around in the air it is looking for somewhere to dump the third Oxygen atom. Eventually it will find a single atom of odor and it will jump onto it. This results in oxidation of the odor atom, forever. It cannot return. So, you take this box and put it into a hotel room where someone smoked in a non-smoking room and plug it infor a couple hours and it is a non-smoking room again. It even works on skunk odor. As long as the skunk is not there to create more odor, the odor is gone forever. It can be dangerous. Animals and humans cannot handle O3. We cannot process it our lungs. Over exposure can be really bad. This has to be done in empty areas. You can also take items like mattresses and rugs that were smoke damaged and put them in an "Ozone room" to deodorize them. They will then be fine. Now, to split the O2 atoms into single atoms is done by corona discharge (in this case) which is to pass the air through high voltage. I am building a 15,000V corona discharge to pass the air through. Now to give an idea of the finished product of an ozone machine. If you have ever walkied outside right after a lightning storm and it smelled really fresh, you have experienced the after effects of ozone. Lightning (High Voltage) split the O2 and it cleaned the air. After a while the things that creaed our odors will recreate them and everything goes back to how it was. But in a car, hotel room or house, the recreation of the odor does not come back so the room stays free of the smoke odor.I should be able to deodorize a car in about 15 minutes and a hotel room in a couple of hours. This is an industrial size ozone generator. The small ones they sell on TV are VERY small compared to the output of the one I am making. You could put mine by a dumpster behind your local bar and pump ozone into the dumpster and you would not smell that stale beer that stinks so bad.Hope that clears it all up.Unfortunately I still cannot get the box to install the hardware in. The sentury safe is unavailable at this time. I guess I need to find another box.Last edited by Bob Warner; 09-20-2006 at 05:47 PM.
Reply:WOW thats about the coolest thing, is it hard to make or could i make one with your help. or is it a trade secret. i can think of several uses for one, my wifes storage shed would be first on the list. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:Not hard to build but dangerouse dealing with high voltatge, just some specialized parts. The big thing is learning how to use it without harming anything. If there is a wet spot on the carpet, ozone will combine with the water and bleach that spot. Plants have to be removed also. Anything plastic, especially with fingerprints on it can deteriorate if exposed too long to ozone. It will run off any mice or other critters because they get sick and leave for fresh air. Not sure (YET) on bugs but will be investigating it.
Reply:That is AWSOME I would love to put this in a friends truck man it stinks. I hope he doesn't see this post. LOL I thought those things on TV were a bunch of BS but thanks for explaining it how it all works. I guess that is why I love thunderstorms because it cleans all the sh*t out of the air.Chris
Reply:The ones on TV don't work like this one. The ozone amount is very small so that it can operate in a room with people in it. The one I am building is about a 50000 times more powerful. The ozone generators are dangerous if used improperly. They can also cause damage.Water is H2O if the extra atom jumps to H2O you get H2O2 which is peroxide (bleach).Your friends truck needs to be cleaned out, then the odor removed. If your friend is the cause of the odor (either himself or the stuff he puts in the truck) the odor will return. If he keeps the problem that causes the odor out of the truck, it won't stink again.
Reply:It's amazing what can be learned on a welding forum! Good luck with it. Nice knives, too BTW.Always looking for another old VW, especially in the southeast.
Reply:Although it can be dangerouse playing with high voltage can be quite fun. I built a Jacobs ladder just to see it work. That is an amazing thing to see and it scares heck out of your kids when you tell them to come and see the "Lightning" you made out in the shop.Just cause it is a welding forum does not mean EVERYTHING has to be about welding, right?
Reply:OK, now thats cool, lets see some pic's 8^)) summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:I think you should open a new thread with this info. I found it interesting and I'm sure others would too, but its hidden in the "market" forum. .02
Reply:Sorry guys, I do not have pictures of the jacobs ladder. I have already disassembled it and and now using the transformer for the ozone machine. I have several projects in progress and can post about them if anyone wants to follow the progress. Time to work on them will be limited but if the interest is there I will start a new thread on them. Let me know what you want to learn more about. Here is what I have in the works right now. Gathering materials is in progress.Ozone Generator for deodorizing homes, businesses, cars, hotels. Still need the box to put all this in, have everything else.High temperature (2300 degrees) salt tank for hardening knives, home built propane burners, digital controller operating a gas valve. Zapster is making my tank on 9-30-06 in his class, have everything else for this project.Low temperature (500 degrees) salt tank for tempering knives, electric kanthal heating elements for heat, digital controller for controlling contactor to turn power on and off. Zapster is making my tank on 9-30-06 in his class, still need some sheet metal for this project.High temperature (2300 degrees) heat treat oven for making mokume gane and other small items, electric kanthal heating element for heat, digital controller for controlling contactor to turn power on and off. Have everything for this project except K type thermocouples.Wood Burning stove with additional mass to hold and release heat at low rate to heat my shop but avoiding the heat spike you get when you fire it up. Have not started getting materials for this yet.Installing a huge surface grinder in my shop. Really need a single garage door for my shop and need it badly now because the machine will not fit through the door. Don't have the garage door so will probably have to open a wall up to get it inside. Surface grinder is still on my trailer at this time. This will need to be cleaned up and painted. Will have to build a rotary phase converter to run the surface grinder. Have not begun this project yet. Have not started gathering materials yet. I need to find a source for a motor 7.5hp 3 phase and also capasitors, so if you know where to get these cheap, let me know.As I said above, I am willing to share these projects but it will be a SLOW process for some as my hours to work on them is restricted. I also hope to make a knife or two before to long.
Reply:I've played with HV alot too. I've built Tesla coils, Jacob's ladders, plasma globes, can crushers, and coilguns. Fun and interersting stuff. I really want to build one of those coin shrinkers, but I need to get some more big caps, and a few other parts. The Tesla coil I built would throw arcs about 18", and talk about a corona discharge! The whole toroid glowed with a blue aura.
Reply:i gota play with you guys some time. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:It's funny you say that. For some reason I quite often have people sayinig they just want to spend a Saturday at my shop to figure out how I come up with my ideas and how I implement them.My mind never stops. I see things and wonder if I can build them at my shop. So I do, a lot of the time. I come up with some off the wall stuff.I made a little (2"sq) box with a red button on it. I laid it on my workbench. When someone would pick it up and push the button, it would shock the crap out of them. It livens up the day.I like having visitors so if you ever get down here, call me.
