I've owned a Lincoln AC/DC machine for about 10 years but have just recently gotten serious about learning to weld. I'm training on a PowCon 130SE DC inverter machine running 6010, 6011,6013 and 7018. I know going back to the Lincoln will be like going from a Ferrari to VW bug but I'd appreciate any advice on how to maximize my performance on this machine.
Reply:It shouldn't be much different except you have taps for settings instead of continuous control of the heat. DC is DC.Learn which settings work for which rod.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I have a Lincoln weldanpower 150 that I purchased new in 1978. It probably has 50 hours on it since new and it has been a couple years since I last ran it. Today I started it and have neither 115 vac or welding current. Ran it for an hour with a 100 watt light plugged in with no results. Appreciate any help.
Reply:I don't know what machine you're taking about but since you're wanting more performance out of it you might be talking about an AC/DC 225. Other than larger and longer leads and adding a fan there's not much more you can do. On the upside there's not much that can go wrong with it. |
