Need a length of DOM/CREW bent in a tight radius over 90°Specs:66" tube, 1.75" .120 wall.Need a tight radius, 3 inch max? Would less be possible without too much deformation?Bent till the outer edge of the tube is at 37"Building a stinger for my jeep, similar to this one, but I want it a little "pointier"Would like to be in the shop when it gets bent, and be able to learn a little.
Reply:You won't be able to bend 1.75" tube on a 3" radius without a mandrel bender.Typical rule of thumb when bending without a mandrel is a minimum of 3x the diameter of the OD for the CLR of the bend, some rotary draw benders can bend down to 2x the diameter with no mandrel but typical benders like the ones form JMR, JD2, ProTools, etc can't.1.75" x 3 = 5.25.I have a 1.75" x 5.5" CLR die for my bender. If you want it "pointier", you can do two bends then "miter" them together in the middle.http://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories
