My new 110v stick welder

I had a transformer from a battery charger laying around and figured...why not build a little stick welder just for kicks......I used David R's ingenious idea of using vise grips for my rod holder..... I don't know much about how it is wired up etc because a friend of mine did most of it...I was just the parts supplier and test dummy...... Attached Images
Reply:Interesting. I hope the sparks I see near all the elctrical stuff is from the rod and not arcing from the "welder"  Post some picts of the little toy so we can all reverse engineer it.
Reply:The sparks are from the rod....I'll see if I can get some pics of it next week as it is at his house.....
