Reply:Good video. Should answer a number of questions for 1st time users or those experiencing problems. Next time fire up one of those torches and show the difference pre-heating makes on the starts.Something others may have picked up is on how Peter touched the material with the nozzle and then pulled back for the desired stickout distance. Good practice for any MIG or flux core especially with flip-down hoods or those having stickout issues.I do have one question for Peter though. How can he say shielding gas coverage is compromised with a push angle that results in a cleaner (less soot) weld? Reply:I just picked up a small spool gun for my Lincoln 180hd welder. Would the same practices be used in the process. I have never welded aluminum with a mig gun or spool gun I should say. Any and all help would be great. I like you videos in that you are no way intimidating for someone to try something new. Just grab it and try it, if you mess up, oh well. Thanks for all the videos and time you take to make them. |
