Hello guys, I'm trying to find new welding helmet because my 3 years old China made helmet is too dark for me. I can't see nothing but arc even in lowest DIN setting. I'm thinking about Lincoln Viking Tribal 1840 Welding Helmet. I'm living in Czech Republic and there's no Lincoln product available in the welding stores. Is Lincoln Viking 1840 Helmet good helmet for MIG and maybe even TIG welding car guy, or do You recommend me something else? Is it wort for the money?
Reply:I really like my Jackson W60 True sight. I ussually use it for MIG and TIG and I can see everything. I think its worth the $350 I paid for it
Reply:You sure your china helmet don't need a new clear lens??Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024

Reply:The smart tigger wh40 by Jackson. Is really nice at about $135 US on Amazon. It's a bluish color lens I have the BH3 which is basically the same optics wise, larger viewing area though. I also own the W60. Mentioned and it's a great good too.. it has adjustable cut shades and groove mode. Reply:How about a optrel. They are made in Switzerland. I just got my E 684 today. Its really awesome and I think its worth the 345 I paid for it. Might be cheaper for you too since its already made in Europe.Dynasty 200DX (2014)Millermatic 211 (2015)Optrel 864 (2014)Smith Medium duty MBA 30510 (Xmas 2014)Tennsmith 16ga 4ft finger brake (2015)Trailblazer 325 EFI and excel Thermal dynamics Cutmaster 82Miller maxtron 450

Reply:Originally Posted by GambleThis is probably your best bet. Good good at a good price. I wanted to pick it up too so my bh3 used the same cover plates but I just got the optrel e684 instead.

Reply:I really appreciate Your recommendation, but is there any reason for not to buying Lincoln Viking Tribal 1840 Welding Helmet ?
Reply:Originally Posted by BalooI don't know anything about the Lincoln helmets, but I just got my son and myself Jackson's HSL100 helmets with the NexGen AD off of ebay and I can say I am very impressed. I actually like the headset better then on my old Miller Elite. This had turned out to be my main helmet. I was able to get it off ebay for $180.00 total. I am very impressed with all of the Jackson products, and might be worth looking at.

Reply:In the Czech Republic I would go straight to a Sperian or Optrel. Arguably the best in the world, and they are probably similar in price to the Viking. I myself do not like the Viking, they seem from heavy, they are very wide, they are susceptible to drops. A company gave me one, and I gave it away.Constant Current Weldor.

Reply:It's done. Lincoln Tribal Viking Auto Darkening Helmet 1840 Series for $108 bought here : http://www.weldfabulous.com/p-328-li...40-series.aspxI'm pretty happy with this deal.
Reply:I have the lincoln 2450 and I'm extremely happy with it. It's a little heavy but it's not bad. Awesome clarity while welding with a new lens. It's been dropped, and banged around in a tool box, shoved into tight place and abused. I use it daily. Awesome hood. Would definitely buy it again. Lincoln Hoods are good to go. Reply:3M makes a real nice helmet. Auto darkening, shaded side lenses for more visibility. The whole 9 yards. We used them when I was stationed in Fort Campbell. I hear they're about $350 |
