dynapak 110 plasma cutter by thermal dynamics. It is a portable 110v unit, 20 Ampshttp://s122.photobucket.com/albums/o...t=IMG_0083.jpghttp://s122.photobucket.com/albums/o...t=IMG_0082.jpg$750 I dont have performance specs on the unit (thickness it will cut  etc)
Reply:A 20 amp machine is rated at 1/8th inch cut with a quality cut of 3/16.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:hmm, i would think it would be rated higher than that.  It cut stuff quite a bit thicker than 1/8"
Reply:Correct, plasma cutters have 3 defined cuts or ratings for their type of cut. They are: 1) rated 2) quality and 3) sever. As you go from rated to sever, the cut Kerf, bevel angle and drag line becomes more degraded. In other words, the cut is worse.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:too much money. you can get a new TD cutmaster 38 which had allot higher cuttinr capacity for 400.00 more.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Yeah,$750 might be a tad steep.  I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Hypertherm 380 (aka Hobart Airforce 400 or Miller Spectrum 375), a newly discontinued model, for sale online brand new for closeout prices in the mid $900s shipped, with a facory warranty.cricman
Reply:are you saying the hobart airforce 400 and the miller spectrum 375 are the same machine as the Hyertherm 380 ?Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Yes,Though I don't think that Miller or Hobart are dropping their version (still a consumer level product.)  Hypertherm is essentially dropping the 380 to press the new Powermax 30 and focus on what they consider their market-industry/commercial.  If I'm not mistaken, Hypertherm either manufactures or designs most of the Miller/Hobart line.  Of course the source I got the above info from could be full of slag!cricman
Reply:Cricman, check ebay auctions from seller GTS Gas.  I got a new Hypertherm Powermax 380 from them for about $850 shipped with factory warranty.   Its a great little machine.   Same specs as the Miller Spectrum 375.   Great for the general fabrication work I do here at the house.   If I was cutting alot of steel over 1/4" or aluminum over 1/8" I would want more power, but it does fine for what I do with it.
Reply:Thanks DesertRider33,They are the best deal, of those I have seen.  I'm waiting on an e-mail about the availability a bench mill this week.  If it's a wash on the mill, then I will probably drop the bills on the plasma.cricman
