I have seen this done on lots of belt buckles rings bracelets etc. I have made a few attempts but I can't seem to get the same look… anyone ever do this? Do you have any pointers? thanks! Reply:they do it with a drill. Put one end of your wires in a vise and the other in the drill and spin.
Reply:that is what i tried…. it wouldn't get that tight twist. I was using 3/32, maybe try 1/16?- Christian M.C3 Welding & Fabrication - CNC Plasma Cutting-Mobile Welding-Custom welding and fabwww.c3welding.com
Reply:You have to go slow and keep tension on it. Practice with bailing wire. The stuff they are using is sterling silver, it is a lot more malleable than tig filler.
Reply:Thanks I'll give it another try. See what we get.- Christian M.C3 Welding & Fabrication - CNC Plasma Cutting-Mobile Welding-Custom welding and fabwww.c3welding.com
Reply:It looks like the "twist" part of a "haywire twist". I do it by hand all the time, I like to hold the loop side with my left hand and then hold the legs at about a 45 angle from each other near where you want to twist. After you get the hold, just twist it. If I can find some tig wire here at home I will give it a try.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG

Reply:That's the trick. I had been using two pieces. I got a nice twist with the 3/32 as well as 1/16. The 1/16 stayed straight. The 3/32 got some curve in it. Thanks guys!- Christian M.C3 Welding & Fabrication - CNC Plasma Cutting-Mobile Welding-Custom welding and fabwww.c3welding.com

Reply:Pull hard while twisting to avoid the bending.
