Reply:That's the one I wanted when I got my Rigid. Every store in the metro area was sold out of the Dewalt. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:The RIGID is comparable... same thing only different. The fence on the RIGID angles left and right and though the base is slightly smaller it is made from warp-and-dent-resistant cast iron. I wanted the cast base but the DeWalt was available for about the same price and had the convienient quick-change blade lock knob. It's all a trade-off. Outfitting a small shop is like outfitting a boat.... everything you do is a compromize of some sort. I think we will both be happy in the long run.-MondoBTW: Where is the picture??Last edited by Mondo; 06-24-2008 at 12:04 AM.Reason: signature and post-script.Member, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on. |
