Googling welders I ran across the "Worlds Smallest Welder". It's name goes by "Powerweld" or "Increweld". The inventor is in the Philippines and there is a UTube video of the machine in use. It is a stick welder weighting about 4 lbs. Anyone with any info on this?
Reply:You are probably talking about this. I made a post a few days ago about it.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=22575 Attached ImagesLast edited by 737mechanic; 07-12-2008 at 02:19 PM.
Reply:At first I thought this contraption was just a gag,but it seems it is a produced item for sale. Just how much is $3000 PHP(Pesos?) They are setting up a website and have these listed for sale on ebay. They are described as small welders suitable for artwork mostly, which if they function at all I could see that being acceptable. Everyone probably had the same reaction I did viewing that video...."What a goof !" but now I think he was just showing off the unit(although I think I could have avoided the water trick).I'm sure there has to be a reason this isn't being marketed in the US,but then you never know. It might be interesting to see what happens with this..... but then I like weird tools and this thing is very weird and very small. I've seen a pocket-mig,but that's the first pocket-stick welder I've ever seen.****************************************I checked $3000 PHP = $65.68 USLast edited by mudbugone; 07-12-2008 at 03:08 PM.
Reply:This is the original invention?-- [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjPpQKkvjQU&feature=related[/ame]Then this-- [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC_tIQG5Rew&feature=email[/ame]If the suggested method of plugging it in is to hang a wire over a live wire...I can see why it isn't marketed anywhere.I actually ran across these while looking at something else..just thought someone would find it interesting.

Reply:"48 hrs continuous use" - I dread to see the guy that found out what happened on the 49th hour...."1yr warranty - other brands no warranty" : CRAP! Lincoln scammed me!!!I'll buy one as long as the manufacturer throws in one of those fancy shields from the video. My Miller Elite is going to feel so obsolete after watching this!"A winner isn't someone who doesn't lose, a winner is someone who doesn't quit." |
