Reply:Yup, the third hand is way quicker than clamping the part upright, provides a good ground, thanks to Jody and the forum for the idea.SqWave 200Millermatic 190Airco 200 ACHypertherm PM45Boice-Crane Band SawVictor O/A
Reply:Did you weld a little contact pad on it to prevent little black marks too?I had to cause it was still arcing off my tip sometimes.  I used a piece of copper house wire for the tig rod.     (also Jody's idea)Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:Good plan, I took 8" of 14 ga copper wire in and added a little contact bead to the point, feet and every 1" on the arm, much better.SqWave 200Millermatic 190Airco 200 ACHypertherm PM45Boice-Crane Band SawVictor O/A

Reply:Brazin   -   Color MatchingThe aluminum anodized corner is especially interesting because it offers three design opportunities.1)     Weld it, anodize, and install.2)     Color match the filler and parent metal so  the                  weld doesn't show [make your own filler rods].3)     And the best: for the Arts and Crafts welder that wants to develop an effect or technique.  Mismatched filler, then anodized, produces a look very much like graphite-drip drawing, on water color paper. This is how you get that effect with metal. One of you creating guys  -  take this and run.Opus
