Hey guys, I just ordered a millermatic 211 from Zoro tools with the 30% off deal but apparently they are backordered from miller until after Christmas time.  Thinking about canceling my order and looking somewhere else.Anything have anything to say about the new millermatic 190?  Its 700 bucks after rebate from cyberweld and seems like a pretty good option to the 211.  I would lose the option to plug into 120 but capacity seems pretty close and I don't anticipate welding anything over 1/4".Seems like all the buzz has been on the new Lincoln 210 but theres a wait on that unit as well...
Reply:My big question is how you plan to use it. If it's shop only work, I doubt you'll see much of a difference between the two machines. However the ability to use it elsewhere on 110v power to me is a big advantage at times. There are any number of times when I don't use mig because my MM185 isn't usable on 110v power or very portable. Instead I shift to stick and use my Maxstar instead. The number of time I need a portable machine is limited, but it is nice to have that option available when I want it..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks for the input.  I work in an architectural design practice and the machine will be used for small custom fab projects.  Mostly furniture but I am planning on building a few outdoor gates for a project.  I have access to a smaller 110 mig if I need it so I don't think the 220 requirement is a deal breaker.Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Reply:I have seen the Millermatic 190 and I didn't like it, check out this thread http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...er-MIG-weldersI would wait for the 210 mp If I was shopping for a mig or wait for the 211.
Reply:I love my 211. The Zoro deal that many purchased is a super price. I would considering waiting since the 211 has the 110v and the 220 volt feature as stated. The 211 has great reviews here and even IF it has more power then needed  . I'm sometimes avoid the first generation of anything. This has only been out a short time and I didn't check on any reviews of it. It only weighs 35 pounds too compared to the 211 at 74 pounds. Tough call. Good luck
Reply:Thanks for the advice guys, Im going to wait it out and go with the 211.  Its tried and true and the 120 option may come in handy.
Reply:Personally, I'd give the MM 190 a try over the MM 211. I've never ran the MM 211 , however,  all the feed back I've received on its performance makes it sound like 211 performs very similar to the MM  180. I've ran the MM 180, and compared to other units in it class I wasn't impressed. Weld puddle wet out is sluggish, and the upper end arc is harsh and produces a lot of spatter that can't be dialed out. The 180 was also very finicky about  the brand of wire that you ran on it. As an example, I has a roll of Lincoln .030 L-56 that I was running on my Hobart Handler 187, on 1/8",  the 187 was producing basically spatter free weld. I installed the same roll on the MM 180, and on 1/8", I couldn't get the spatter dialed out.On the MM 190 , Miller is stating the wire drive can handle up to 15' lead. On the MM 211 Miller is recommending not to exceed a 10' gun leadESAB Migmaster 250 Hobart Ironman 230Multimatic 215TWECO Fabricator 181i & 211iHH125EZ - nice little fluxcore only unitMaxstar 150 STH - very nice
