Reply:i think the up grade was under pirate 4x4 .com 36" brake mod.anyone have it
Reply:I don't know where the mod was at, but this is the only board I go to and I saw it on here. I bought one of their benders and never have set it up. They were out of the ring roller. I think it would be real handy for some of the ideas I have in mind. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:Suggestion on the roller. Disassemble, clean and flush out crud/grit, lube and reassemble. It works much more smoothly then.IIRC, to beef up the brake just look at the back of the existing angle iron and put an 'opposing' angle behind it to turn the angle iron into a box beam. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:I think the brake is made to cheap to do much beefing. The pins on the folder are only like 5/8" and i think that will be the first place it breaks. just my .02...BobBob WrightSalem, Ohio Birthplace of the Silver & Deming Drillhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/southbend10k/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sawking/1999 Miller MM185 w/ Miller 185 Spoolmate spoolgun |
